Identification: This
is an annual, 1 to 10 feet tall which is a problem particularly in the
Mid-West. The seedling cotyledons have a rough surface with a slightly
lobed margin, tapered into a point. Stems beneath cotyledons are green
with stiff white hairs. Leaves are alternate with toothed edges. Both
the leaves and stems are covered with hair. The large flowers are
yellow with brown to reddish-brown centers.
Geographical Distribution: Found throughout the United States.
